Coronation Street fans can expect more dramatic events to take place on the cobbles in the aftermath of the soap's 50th anniversary disaster, reports have revealed today.
Last night's double bill of the ITV1 show saw the residents of Weatherfield facing the difficult task of rebuilding their lives following the Joinery bar explosion and tram crash stunt.
However, speaking of what the future holds for the programme, a source told The Mirror: "Anyone expecting things to calm down is in for a shock.
"The coming weeks are set to be a rollercoaster, climaxing in a huge drama on New Year's Eve when someone attempts to murder Tracy Barlow.
"All the fingers are pointing at Becky McDonald, but it's going to be incredible."
Tracy returns to the Street on Christmas Eve, before quickly ruining the festive season for the McDonalds by getting aggressive as she attempts to reclaim her daughter Amy.
Meanwhile, Corrie producer Phil Collinson yesterday cleared up the mystery surrounding the four deaths that were promised for the soap's anniversary week by confirming the identity of the final casualty
